Straight out of Orange County, California, French Park is inspired by rock bands from the seventies and eighties rock movement. The band formed in December of 2019 for a Christmas show. After the show, they realized that they played really well together and wanted to form a band. Since then, they have played many shows, written and recorded originals, and are looking forward to writing more in the future and expanding their name as a band. All of the members of French Park are students in the Popular Music conservatory at the Orange County School of the Arts. These kids are not just students that take music classes for fun. These musicians are serious about their music and at one point or another, they have played at places such as the House of Blues in Anaheim, the Canyon Montclair, and many more. Clearly, French Park is more than just a teenage band.
Meet Charlotte La Rue, our lead singer! She has been singing since she was 6 years old, after the death of Michael Jackson spiked her interest in music. As well as singing, Charlotte also knows how to play guitar, piano, ukulele, bass, harmonica, and recently picked up the drums! She loves all kinds of music, but especially classic rock and blues. Her biggest influences include Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe, Queen, Elton John, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Chris Cornell, and Guns n' Roses, to name a few.
Meet Wyatt Beckley, our guitarist! Wyatt started playing the guitar in 4th grade and has never met an instrument that he doesn't like - he plays keys, bass, drums, saxophone, and of course guitar! He loves all music, but especially funk and jazz. Some of his biggest musical influences are Guthrie Govan, Steely Dan, The Strokes, The Aristocrats, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.
Meet Thomas Muri, our drummer! Thomas began playing drums on his 10th birthday after begging his parents for years for a drum set. His favorite types of music are jazz, funk, and prog. He has many musical influences, including Steely Dan, the Foo Fighters, The Beatles, and Tower of Power. His biggest musical inspirations are David Garibaldi and Steve Gadd.
Meet Lance Evensen, our bassist! Lance began playing guitar at age 6. At age 9, he began performing at various venues in Orange County with School of Rock Tustin, where he was introduced to the bass. It may be ironic that 9 years of guitar lessons led to a gig as a bassist, but he enjoys it just as much! He loves and is inspired by all types of music from jazz to metal. Some of his biggest inspirations are Jaco Pastorius, Victor Wooten, Flea, Marcus Miller, Queen, and the Foo Fighters.
